CEO Ms. Distaquaine Tuihalamaka joined at the eighth PACER Plus Joint Committee Meeting held in Honiara, Solomon Islands, from 5–6 May 2025.
The meeting brought together senior officials from PACER Plus member countries to review the progress of the 2024–2025 Annual Work Plan and discuss the future of regional economic cooperation. Discussions included updates from the PACER Plus Implementation Unit on the Development and Economic Cooperation (DEC) Work Programme and the Arrangement on Labour Mobility.
PACER Plus continues to play a critical role in promoting sustainable trade and economic integration across the Pacific, with support from Australia and New Zealand through a joint AU$25 million funding commitment.
MTED remains committed to ensuring Tonga benefits from regional partnerships that support economic growth, trade facilitation, and employment opportunities for Tongans.
