Tonga proudly showcased its cultural and trade potential at the 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE), held in Shanghai from November 5 to 10, 2024. The five-day event brought together nations and businesses from around the globe to uncover exciting trade opportunities, with Tonga presenting unique and marketable products.

Leading Tongaโ€™s delegation were two skilled artisans, Siaola Tangifua and Christopher Malani, representing the private handicraft sector. Assisting them was Fononga Veikoso, an official from MTED. Theyโ€™ve highlighted Tongaโ€™s rich cultural heritage through traditional handmade products. Their mission? To captivate international buyers and open doors for Tongan products on the global stage.

As a premier global trade platform, the CIIE provides an unparalleled opportunity for countries to showcase their distinctive offerings, forge valuable trade partnerships, and deepen ties with the worldโ€™s largest markets. Tongaโ€™s involvement underscored its dedication to sustainable economic growth and its ambitions to leave a lasting impression on the global trade map.
