Tools and equipment have been delivered to pineapple farmers in Vavaʻu this week to help improve farm monitoring and maintenance and prepare for the upcoming export initiative approved by New Zealand towards the end of November 2025.
The assistance, provided by Pacific Trade Invest, follows a joint visit to Vavaʻu by the Ministry of Trade and Economic Development (MTED), the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry (MAFF), and New Zealand’s Ministry for Primary Industries (NZ MPI) to inspect farms and plan for the pilot phase of the program.
MTED and its partners are currently working to establish a packhouse in Vavaʻu, one of the key operational requirements (SOP) for implementing the program.
